Buying Your Super Bowl Party Decorations

Posted Friday, November 18th, 2011

Getting things together for the big game doesn’t have to be a stressful ordeal. As long as you start shopping for your Super Bowl party decorations and supplies now, you should have no problem having everything in order well before February 11th. Remember that this isn’t a wedding. You don’t need to spend a lot and your guests only have the expectation of drinking and watching football.

That doesn’t mean you should just pick up a case of Old Style and call it a day, though. Guests appreciate a little effort put into the event, so consider picking up some plates and napkins with your team’s uniform colors, or perhaps hang some banners that get people in gear for some gridiron action. It doesn’t cost much and you will leave a great impression on party-goers.

In addition to the peripheral items, your main offering should be finger foods and some basic liquor concoctions. As mentioned, you should definitely buy a couple cases of popular domestic brews, but also try to work in some creative cocktails that have something to do with your team or football in general. You’re bound to have a snob that only drinks wine, so pick up a cheap bottle to accommodate.

Chips and salsa are store-bought items that are great munchies for fans to nimble on throughout the game, but if you want to have more substantial food, you can always replicate some bar staples. Burgers, fries, wings and pizza are all easy to make or cheap to purchase, plus they don’t require anyone to sit down at a table to enjoy. Remember, it’s about the game, not dinner.
